On Nov. 3, 2020, Arizona voters passed Proposition 207, known as the Smart and Safe Act.
This new law legalizes the adult recreational use of marijuana and opens a legal path to file a petition to expunge criminal records related to marijuana offenses.

What is expungement?
Under Arizona law, expungement means that eligible marijuana-related criminal records are sealed and no longer available to the public and no longer show up on a criminal history search.
