And the Reclaim Your Future campaign is commemorating the day by reminding people who have a marijuana-related conviction or arrest history that <em>EXPUNGEMENT IS FREE<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsidering that the State of Arizona received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2023\/04\/20\/legal-marijuana-generates-over-255-million-tax-revenue-arizona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">total tax revenue of nearly $256 million in 2022<\/a>, legal fees to exercise one\u2019s expungement rights and undo a conviction for an offense that no longer exists should be considered obsolete,\u201d said Martin Hutchins, an attorney and program manager for the Reclaim Your Future campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Though voters overwhelmingly legalized adult recreational use of marijuana in Arizona, as well as a pathway to expungement, Prop 207 did not automatically clear past convictions related to marijuana offenses. The costs to someone seeking expungement through a private attorney average between $1,500 and $4,000 per case.
